XML files can be processed by ZEDI and mapped to produce whatever file type is required by your business systems. ZEDI can also produce XML files by mapping data exported by your business systems in any machine-readable format.
CSV files can be processed by ZEDI and mapped to produce whatever file type is required by your business systems. ZEDI can also produce CSV files by mapping data originating in any machine-readable format.
Fixed-position files can be processed by ZEDI and mapped to produce whatever file type is required by your business systems. ZEDI can also produce fixed-position files by mapping data originating in any machine-readable format.
ZEDI can import data from spreadsheets and map it to produce whatever file type is required by your business systems. ZEDI can also produce spreadsheets by mapping data originating in any machine-readable format.
Spreadsheets generated by ZEDI can be designed to include empty columns for the recipient to complete. That spreadsheet can then be returned to ZEDI for processing.
A good example of this would be an order sent to a supplier. The spreadsheet would have a column containing the order quantity for each item, plus another empty column for the dispatch quantity. The supplier completes the dispatch quantity column and returns the spreadsheet to ZEDI. This information is then mapped so that the dispatch quantities can be passed back to your business systems.
ZEDI can be configured to map an incoming file to produce an SQL script (sequence of SQL commands). These are typically used to insert data directly into an SQL database.
ZEDI can map transactions originating in any machine-readable format to produce a human-readable HTML file. These are typically e-mailed directly to the recipient.
This is commonly used when a transaction, such as a remittance advice, does not need to be imported into the business systems but simply e-mailed in a readable format to one of your colleagues.
